About this policy

This Privacy Policy describes how FanScout handles information when you use our website, mobile apps, and related services to discover sports, venues, and fan communities. FanScout is operated by Danielle Brear. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@fanscoutapp.com.

Information we collect

Account information includes your email address, account identifier, display name, profile photo, and the information you choose to add to your profile. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the identifiers and profile information those providers make available under the permissions you approve, such as your name and email address. We do not receive your Google or Apple password. Google sign-in requests basic profile and email permissions, not access to Gmail, Google Drive, or your contacts.

Your activity and content

We process your selected teams, group memberships, watch plans, check-ins, votes, venue interactions, messages, uploaded photos, and requests you submit. If you manage a venue or community, we also process the information you supply for those features. Technical information can include IP addresses, browser and device details, timestamps, service logs, and identifiers used to operate and secure the service.

Location and device permissions

With your permission, FanScout uses device location to find nearby venues and relevant activity. You can decline or revoke location access in your browser or device settings and use available manual location controls. Photos and notification features may request additional device permissions. Check-ins and watch plans can reveal a location or planned visit to other people, depending on the feature you use.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate you, maintain your profile, personalize sports and venue results, support communities and chat, deliver requested notifications, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and understand and improve the service. If you use the Elliot AI assistant, your question and conversation context are processed through Amazon Bedrock to generate a response. Avoid entering sensitive personal information into the assistant.

Cookies, storage, and analytics

FanScout uses cookies or similar browser and device storage for authentication, preferences, and service functionality. When enabled, our website uses Google Analytics to measure page views, searches, and interactions such as venue views, check-ins, and group joins. Analytics events can be associated with a FanScout profile identifier. Browser controls can limit cookies or clear stored data, which may affect sign-in and preferences. You can also use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

When information is shared

Information you post or actions you take in public or community features may be visible to other users, group participants, or relevant venue managers. Service providers process information to support FanScout: these include Amazon Web Services for hosting, authentication, storage, and AI processing; Stream for chat; and Google for sign-in, maps, and website analytics. Apple processes Apple sign-in when you choose it. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect people and the service, or as part of a transfer of the service, subject to applicable law. Third-party sites and services have their own privacy policies.

Storage, retention, and security

We retain information as needed to provide the service and for legitimate operational, security, dispute-resolution, and legal purposes. Retention varies by information type and use; deletion may not immediately remove information from backups, security logs, or records we must retain by law. Information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate. We use technical and organizational safeguards, but no system is completely secure.

Your choices and requests

You can update available profile settings, control device permissions and notifications, and stop using the service. The mobile app provides a Delete account control in the profile area. You can also contact support@fanscoutapp.com to request access, correction, or deletion of your information, or to ask about other rights available under applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Disconnecting FanScout in your Google or Apple account stops that connection but does not itself delete your FanScout account.

Children

FanScout is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service changes. We will update the date on this page and provide additional notice when required by law. Contact Danielle Brear at support@fanscoutapp.com with questions about this policy.
